Care Delivery and Comparative Effectiveness Research
New care models are emerging that show promise for improving outcomes for older adults with cancer. Studies that assess the effectiveness of these models in vulnerable older adults need expert input on design issues and outcome choices appropriate to older patients. The Core mission is to support clinical investigators to design and conduct high-quality health services research focused on older adults with cancer and caregivers including patterns of care, comparative effectiveness, and care delivery.
CORE MISSION
- Foster and advance Health Services Research (HSR) in geriatric oncology
- Support clinical investigators to design and conduct high-quality HSR focused on older adults with cancer and caregivers including patterns of care, comparative effectiveness, and care delivery
- Partner with Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design Core to understand strengths and limitations of specific data elements
- Provide consultations for HSR projects
- Expand evidence base for personalized tailored care for older adults with cancer
CORE FUNCTION
- Consultation service for junior geriatric oncology investigators and senior investigators new to cancer and aging
